Grace Creek Head Works Improvements Design

The work included replacing two existing mechanical bar screens and one screenings conveyor at the bar screen structure and replacing four existing slide gates in the bar screening channels.  This involved extensive coordination with the plant to bypass the plant’s entire intake volume of 16 MGD.  The work also included installing new vortex grit unit, concrete basin, grit classifiers and concrete channels to the unit, modifying the existing aerated grit chamber structure to include raising the concrete walls and installing new slide gates and grating, replacing existing tertiary filter media, relocating diversion piping around the existing grit chamber, and relocating stormwater lagoon return water piping.
