The existing Richland Chambers pipeline was in conflict with the proposed IPL pipeline, and therefore had to be lowered by replacing 1,400 LF of 90” PCCP pipe and replacing it with bare welded steel pipe at a lower depth. The entire lowered segment was concrete encased and was complete and back in operation in less than seven weeks during the low demand months of January and February. The work on this project is very similar to the KBR Bypass Project in that it used concrete encased bare steel pipe and BAR is utilizing the same shoring and concrete placing techniques on the KBR Bypass Project.
