Project Details

This on-going project is the construction of the new Pump Station No. 1 at the Elm Fork Water Treatment Plant for Dallas Water Utilities.  This dual-purpose pump station replaces the existing Pump Station No. 1 and included a low-lift raw water pump station and a treated water high service pump station with a total of 8 pumps.  Due to the proximity of surrounding structures, the excavation was vertical using a shoring system.  The foundation is supported on 13,500 LF of drilled piers.  The buried steel yard piping system also required vertical shoring and consists of 66”, 72”, 84”, 90”, and 96” lines that tie into the existing plant system.  The tie-ins were required to be during winter low demand months, and were performed on a 24 hour per day basis.
